Do you enjoy making baby quilts? I absolutely do! They're quick, fun, and a perfect way to dive into quilting without feeling overwhelmed. In fact, I started my quilting journey with baby quilts, and they’re such a great project for beginners.
I made this quilt for my niece, and decided to share it with you!

I made this pattern as a baby gift! The hardest part was picking the proper colors. I chose greens and white with navy for the baby’s name in appliqué on top. I didn’t quilt in straight lines because I was short on time but it still turned out great. When making the pattern I did sew strips together instead of all individual squares which was a time saver. I also used a cozy baby fabric backing which ended up being about 2in too narrow so I had to trim a full row from the top and side because out of laziness I didn’t want to piece the backing. Still turned out great but I’d keep it in mind for next time. Overall it’s a great beginner pattern. One problem I had is the image for piecing doesn’t match the wording. Figure A shows 5 A squares but the instructions say to use 6 A squares. Maybe this is why my quilt was too wide because I made it with 6 A squares. I think either the directions or the image need to be updated. I went by instructions not image unfortunately but it still looks cute!
Thank you so much for the honest review. I really appreciate it. I did go back and look at the pattern, and you are correct. The number indicated in the written pattern didn't match the images. I have corrected that and resent out the pattern to everyone who has downloaded it.
Thank you for sharing a picture. It turned out adorable!
